New Balance Customisation at the Women’s Marathon Workshop, London

YR partnered with Exposure to deliver a fast-turnaround garment customisation experience for New Balance’s Women’s Marathon Workshop, hosted at the NB Townhouse on Cavendish Square, London. With just four working days’ notice, our team developed a fully hardware-based setup — no software required — to support this hands-on, creative activation.

On Friday, guests were invited to personalise New Balance t-shirts and shorts by selecting from a curated set of 20 pre-designed patches, which were then applied using heat press. The activation blended simplicity and flexibility — perfect for a casual yet high-quality user experience.

Impressed by the results and high engagement on day one, Exposure brought us back the following day to expand the offering. On Saturday, we introduced name and number vinyl pressing, doubling the output with over 100 garments customised on site.

Results

The two-day workshop delivered excellent results, both in experience and output — helping to re-establish our relationship with Exposure after a post-pandemic pause. The seamless execution, despite tight timelines and minimal setup complexity, was a great example of how hardware-only activations can still offer high-impact brand engagement.
